Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a Central University located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The University offers 6 vocational courses*, one of them is “Bachelor of Vocation in Medical Lab Technology” This is a degree course of 3 years duration, interested candidates can apply and take admission in this course.

BHU takes an entrance test for the admission to B.Voc Medical Lab Technology (MLT) course. The entrance exam for the B.Voc MLT Course is conducted by the University every year in the month of April or May, eligible candidates can fill out the form.

Mode of BHU Entrance Exam 2021 – BHU Entrance Exam 2021 for UET and PET Courses will be conducted in online mode through Computer Based Test (CBT) only. This year the candidates can’t choose for the Pen and Paper/OMR-based entrance test because BHU has removed the offline entrance test system. BHU B.Voc Medical Lab Technology Course Duration –

3 Years Duration: B.Voc MLT is a degree course of 3 years duration. This 3 years duration is divided into 6 semesters. After the end of each semester, you will have to appear in the semester examination to go in the next semester.  Also, a minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear in the semester examination.

Candidates also have multiple exit options with duration and Award of Degree in the Bachelor mentioned above Vocational programs.

Course Location: The BHU conducts the “B.Voc Medical Lab Technology Course” in its second campus at Banaras Hindu University South Campus, Mirzapur Uttar Pradesh.

This course is conducted by the department of DDU Kaushal Kendra, Banaras Hindu University South Campus, Barkachha, Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, 231001. This BHU South Campus is located 70 kilometers from the main BHU campus, on 2700 acres of land.

Number of Seats in Medical lab Technology BHU: 

There are a total of 62 seats (as of 2020) available for the B.Voc Medical Lab Technology course. Reservation of seats and other facilities will be as per University rules.

BHU B.Voc Medical Lab Technology Course Fee –

This course comes under the “Special Course of Study” in the courses of Banaras Hindu University so candidates will have to pay the Special course fee (26,000) with University fees (1981) and also Rs.5000/- one-time assessment fee.

Course Fee: Rs.1981/- per semester + Special Course Fee: Rs.26,000/- per semester

Assessment Fees – Rs.5000/- (One Time)

So the candidates will have to pay almost Rs.28,000/- per semester (Hostel charge not included)

Minimum Eligibility Requirements for Admission Medical Lab Technology Course – BHU

A candidate shall be eligible for admission to B.Voc. in Medical Lab. Technology, if he/she has passed 10+2 or equivalent, in Science stream or level 4 NSQF certificate or any other equivalent examination recognized by the University securing at least 50% marks in aggregate.

BHU MLT: Hostel Facility, & Mess Fee 

Hostel for Bachelor of Vocation courses at Banaras Hindu University South Campus: Candidates who got Admission to RGSC BHU, are provided hostel facility. And each hostel-rooms have 2 Beds, 2 Tables, 2 Chairs, 2 Almira, 2 Lights, and 1 ceiling Fan and is allotted to 2 students.

Hostel Fees: Candidates will have to pay the hostel fees of Rs.4100/- per Year (Rs.2000/- is refundable

Mess Charges: Apart from Hostel fees, you will also have to pay Mess fees of Rs.2900*/- per month

BHU B.Voc Medical Lab Technology: Application Form & Fees

The candidates are required to fill up the B.Voc in Medical Lab Technology UET Application Form ONLINE and the Application Form will not be sold offline by the University.

Generally, the university releases the Bachelor of Vocation courses online application form in the month of February & March.

Application fee:

  • General and OBC – Rs.600/-
  • SC/ST/PWD – Rs.300/-

Candidates can pay the Application fee through online mode (Debit Card, Credit Card, & Net Banking). OR through “Challan” in any branch of HDFC Bank.

BHU B.Voc in Medical Lab Technology: Entrance Exam Syllabus

In the Entrance Test of BHU B.Voc Medical Lab Technology, A total of 180 questions will be asked, out of 180 questions you have to answer only 150 questions in 2 hours & each question contain 3 marks so the entrance exam will be a total of 450 marks.

The Question paper will be divided into two categories: The first category contains 120 questions and the second comprises 60 questions. 

The first category (120 questions) contains questions from General Science, General knowledge, Current affairs, Reasoning, and General Mathematics. But in the first category, most of the questions will be asked from Biology from General Science.

The second category contains 60 questions: 30 questions from Hindi grammar & 30 questions from English grammar.  But You will have to answer only 30 questions, you can solve 30 questions either from Hindi Grammar or 30 questions from English Grammar.
