What is a Sitemap? How to create and submit the sitemap to Google Search Console?

But before you create or submit the sitemap your site should have a robots.txt file. So I would recommend you first, you should create a robots.txt file and submit it to the Google Search Console then you can go for the sitemap.
What is a Sitemap?
The sitemap is a file where you provide information about the pages, videos, or other files on your site, and the relationships between them. Search engines like Google read this file to more intelligently crawl your site.
A sitemap tells Google which pages and files you think are important and should be indexed to appear on the search result page.
Create a Sitemap for Blogger Blog –
Blogger is a simple site hosting service and it helps you set up a site quickly with pre-formatted pages and navigation elements, Also Blogger creates a sitemap for your site automatically, and you don’t need to do anything to create a sitemap. But you have to manually submit the sitemap to Google Seach Console on your own.
Submit Sitemap to the Google Search Console –
Go through the following steps to submit a sitemap in Google Search Console.
- Open your site’s home page. (https://www.example.com)
- Then type sitemap.xml next to the site’s homepage URL (https://www.example.com/sitemap.xml) and press the enter button.
- Copy sitemap.xml word and go to the Google Search Console.
- Now click on the Sitemaps option in the side menubar.
- Paste sitemap.xml and click on the submit button.
- After 24 hours you can see the success status of your submitted sitemap.
Now you are all set. After indexing the posts of your site in Google it will start appearing on the search result page and your site will start to gain organic traffic from Google. When you post 20 – 25 unique articles that contain at least 500 – 600 words then you can also apply for AdSense.
